Accelerating soil aggregate formation: a review on microbial processes as the critical step in a post-mining rehabilitation context

چکیده

One of the most difficult challenges facing coal mining industry is rehabilitation open cut mines in absence sufficient quality and quantity topsoil. As a result, growth medium for often mine spoil that has poor chemical structural properties. Microorganisms play critical role natural soil forming processes, nutrient cycling aggregate stabilisation. However, microbiota their impact on chemistry structure traditionally been overlooked site remediation amelioration. Soil bioengineering, using microbial inoculants to modify structure, novel approach potential positively alter physical limitations prevented by improve outcomes. This review focuses importance microbiology spoil-to-soil transformation after discusses ways could be used accelerate amelioration during rehabilitation. The work seeks establish platform bioengineering approaches considered mines. Australian but application all with limited substrates and/or saline or sodic prone erosion.

A critical review on structure-soil-structure interaction

The purpose of this paper is to review computational methods in structure-soil-structure interaction. As a result of globalization, buildings are located close to each other. This issue happens especially in big cities, making the study of structure-soil-structure interaction as an essential part of structural design process. The effect of soil medium, on which the building structure stands, es...

Spatial Variability of Microbial Processes in Soil--A Review

Microbial transformations of fertilizers and pesticides in the surface soil have a direct impact on the mass of the agrochemical that is susceptible to leaching losses. Thus, our greatest potential for controlling leaching losses of agrochemicals is through the management of these compounds in the surface soil. A variety of strategies have been employed to maximize the residence time of applied...
